新刹车片应该如何磨合? Brake Pads bedding?

Brake Pads are pre-treated to be race and street ready.  This treatment  is done in the final step of the manufacturing process when the surface of the friction material is brought up to temperature in order to simulate  a bedding cycle. However, proper bedding is still required using your rotors especially with the Full Racing pads. The following process below is suggested in order to achieve the best performance, consistency and durability of the pad.

 

世界大品牌刹车片出厂时都是经过预处理的,可供比赛和街道驾驶使用。这种处理通常是在制造过程的最后一步,将摩擦材料的表面加热至一定温度,模拟车辆和刹车片的一次高温磨合。严格来说,恰当的磨合过程还需要与刹车盘的配合,尤其是使用专业赛道成分刹车片时。为了达到刹车片的最佳稳定性及持久性,通常会建议采用以下5个步骤。

 

As with all new Brake pad, the friction material has a release compound that can be transferred to the disc surface so to ensure all future Pad and Disc will form a most compatible relationship to enable the best braking efficiency.

与所有的新刹车片一样,刹车片的摩擦材料具有可转移到刹车盘的释放性化合物,以确保刹车片和刹车盘之间的兼容性,实现最佳的刹车性能。

 

As different brand of pads uses different transfer compound and to make sure the new pad will for sure form the best friction relationship with the disc. It is advisable  or bikers when changing to a different brand of brake pad, even they’re both Sintered   is to use fine grid sandpaper  to sand down  he surface of the Disc lightly  this will ensure the new pad when initially  applied to the clean disc surface, will evenly transfer the new pad’s sintered material to the disc surface to ensure the new pad and new transferred disc surface will provide the best friction result.

 

由于不同品牌的刹车片使用不同结构的化合物,为确保新刹车片与刹车盘获得最佳的摩擦效果。当车主更换其他品牌的刹车片时,建议的做法是即使不同品牌的刹车片都是烧结材料的,也应使用细网格砂纸轻轻地打磨和清洁刹车盘的表面,把旧刹车片在盘上的涂层清除,当新的刹车片和干净的刹车盘表面接触时,能均匀地将新刹车片上的化合物涂层到刹车盘表面,从而实现最佳的摩擦效果。

 

Without cleaning the disc surfaces of the old transfer materials MIGHT cause the new pad compound do not match the disc transferred material and lower the efficiency of the braking.

 

如不清除刹车盘表面上旧的化合物材料,可能会导致新的刹车片的涂层材质与刹车盘上的旧涂层材质不兼容,可能会大大降低制动效果。

 

STEP 1/磨合第一步

Gradually get the Brake pads up to temperature. Do not spend a longer time on the brakes than usual because this can create a thermal shock condition within the compound.

 

逐渐使刹车片达到一定温度,但不要在制动上花费比平常更长的时间,因为这会让摩擦材料产生热冲击条件。

STEP 2、磨合第二步

Perform several stops with progressively higher pedal pressure and braking force and from higher speeds. You will feel the effectiveness of the brakes increase with each successive brake apply.

 

 在逐渐加速到高速时顺畅地几次增大刹车手泵/踏板压力和制动力,您会感觉到刹车的性能随着每次连续刹车而增加。

 

STEP 3/磨合第3

Continuing this procedure a few more times is the best way to accomplish the new transfer layer and, due to the higher surface temperatures, will assure a complete removal of the old friction materials from the disc.

再继续重复几次这个高速磨擦过程是完成新的结构涂层的最佳方式,还可以由此产生的表面高温能确保完全清除刹车盘表面的旧涂层材料。

 

STEP 4/磨合第4

The disc should be allowed to cool as much as is practical, with ambient temperature being ideal.  Allowing the disc to cool to ambient temperature will increase disc life and performance.

 

应让刹车盘尽可能地冷却到理想的环境温度,这样可以增加刹车盘的使用寿命和性能。

 

STEP 5/磨合第5

The pads are now properly bedded to provide consistent performance. The pads should be brought back up to the operating temperature range to guarantee optimum braking power. This depends upon the specific compound. 

现在,刹车片已经磨合好了并能够提供均衡的性能,此时应将刹车片恢复到使用温度范围,以确保获得最佳刹车性能,这最终取决于刹车片具体的化合物材料和用途。

 

最后提示 一般街道车辆,磨合刹车片和刹车盘,当做好以上需要的,清除刹车盘上旧涂层, 和完成第一步磨合后,不一定需要用高速再磨合,一般只需要以一般街道使用,循序用刹车就可以达到最好的要求,但如需要磨合赛道使用, 就建议把磨合1-5部全部做完。
